Budget 2019: Artificial, VR will get boost, training will be given for overseas jobs

Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented a central budget of 2019-20 in the Lok Sabha today. During this, he said that standup India is being expanded by 2025. The Finance Minister said that stand-up India has benefited greatly. Thousands of entrepreneurs have emerged from women and scheduled castes and scheduled tribes in the country, most of whom were given capital under standup India scheme to create business and industry. 

Sitharaman said that under this scheme, demand-based financial assistance will be provided by the banks with the procurement of mud cleaning machines and robots. He further said that the government is working on creating a set of four labor laws instead of many labor laws, which will simplify the process of registration and filing returns. 

Referring to the achievements of the government in the field of skill development, the Finance Minister said that through the Prime Minister Skill Development Scheme, the government will enable 10 million youth. In addition to preparing youth to get jobs abroad, the government will focus on essential skills abroad, including language training. Apart from this, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Computer Parts, Data 3D Printing, Virtual Reality and Robot Science will be promoted.

Nirmala Sitaraman said that under the Prime Minister’s Employment Incentive Scheme, the contribution of the government has increased from 8% in 2016-17 to 12% for the Employee Provident Fund and Employee Pension Scheme in all sectors for pension schemes under the scheme. As a result of this step, about 88 lakh people benefited in the financial year 2018-19. As on 31-03-2019, a total of 1,18,05,000 individuals and 1,45,512 institutions have got the benefit under the scheme.
